Captain Mc
Frederick McBride, known as "Captain Fred" has been a fisherman his whole life. Some of his earliest memories as a child are his first fishing trip with his grandfather and brother at the age of four.
Captain Fred is native Houstonian growing up on the South Side with his childhood home at the intersection of Martin Luther King Blvd and Kelso. Music runs deep in his family where he became a classically trained musician and longtime public school orchestra director, but the call of fishing never left him.
In 2019, Captain Fred founded Captain Fred's Seafood a commercial fishing company as a way to share his daily catches directly with some of Houston's finest restaurants. From those relationships he devised the idea of bringing his daily catches to his own restaurant Captain Mc's Seafood.
